Startup Operations / Project Generalist (m/f/d)
At Carbonsate, we develop and implement projects that permanently remove CO₂ from the atmosphere through biomass storage. Following our first successful projects, we are currently scaling our international operations and building the operational foundation for several large-scale projects in the coming years.
To support the growth of our company, we are looking for a versatile and pragmatic person who is excited to take ownership, learn quickly, and help us build things that barely exist yet.
The Role
This is not a traditional corporate role with clearly defined responsibilities. You will workclosely with the founders and support wherever the biggest challenges currently are.
Depending on the project phases, your work may include:
- Supporting international projects and operational activities
- Coordinating with partners, service providers, and customers
- Organizing logistics, equipment, and processes
- Preparing presentations, reports, and project materials
- Supporting certifications and audits
- Structuring internal workflows and systems
- Research, analysis, and special operational projects
- Helping wherever needed in a fast-growing startup environment
In short: you helpturn an exciting idea and early projects into real impact at scale.
What Makes This Role Special
A typical month could include:
- Supporting an international project on-site, for example in Namibia
- Preparing and following up on an important customer meeting
- Organizing a shipment or setting up a new operational process
- Preparing a project audit
- Attending an event or conference in a European city
- Building internal structures for our growing company
If you enjoy variety, get energized by new challenges, and like solving problems, you will probably feel very comfortable in this role.
Who We’re Looking For
You do not need prior experience in carbon removal or climate tech. What matters much more to us is how you work and how quickly you learn.
What we care about:
- High level of ownership and responsibility
- Structured and pragmatic way of working
- Curiosity and the ability to quickly learn new topics
- Interest in a dynamic startup environment
- Hands-on mentality and strong execution skills
- Good communication and reliability
- Strong English skills, written and spoken
- German is helpful, but not required
- Interest in international collaboration and occasional travel
Your background can vary widely, for example startup, consulting, operations, project management, engineering, business, or something completely different.
We know that women in particular often apply only when they feel they perfectly match a role. For us, it matters much more how you work and approach new challenges than having a perfect CV.
What We Offer
- Direct collaboration with the founders
- Early responsibility and significant ownership
- A steep learning curve across climate tech, international projects, and company building
- A small, ambitious team that moves quickly
- Work on real climate projects with international implementation
- The opportunity to grow into the role and take on increasing responsibility over time
- Potential equity participation in addition to salary
